Open Question: How does my 401K make money?
(Fri, 03 Sep 2010 01:41:06 GMT)
I have a wells Fargo Adv Dow Jones tgt 2040 adm retirement that I just set up 2 months ago. It was down 3.6% 2 weeks ago and checking today it is up .6%....
I would like to get into knowing more and my first question is how do I know when it is making money? Is it when the DOW goes up? When Wells Fargo's shares go up? Etc?
I do not know much at all, so I would like to begin here by learning the basics about the plan now.
Thank you in advance.

I want to roll over my retirement plan from a previous employer to an IRA. Are there fees or a commision charged by most plans when you start up or annual charges? Would they wave the fees if you aready bank with them?
I live in the Nebraska and we have Wells-Fargo, Edward Jones, Bank of the West, and First National nearby. I was also looking at the IRA's that ING offers online. Anyone have experience with any of these?
