How to get out of recurring unemployment?
I have been sacked a couple of months ago and finding work in summer is hard. I joined the gym when I got sacked to forget about this painful episode and also to be motivated to find a job.
I recently watched a program on TV about successful career women. This is what I wanted to become 10 yrs ago when I was in my twenties. I had dreams. Unfortunately, I don't look like this women today. I have tried to succeed professionally in life but I failed becau

Resolved Question: Should my wife keep her job, or stay at home with our family?
(Fri, 27 Aug 2010 03:49:50 GMT)
Currently, she makes a decent amount of money in a job she hates. She wants to change to another job that pays about 2/3 the money, with a far weaker pension. She keeps asking me what to do, and honestly, I am not sure. We are used to a certain lifestyle that would be all but gone if she changes jobs...but our family would be more settled, organized, and she would have the same holidays as I and the kids do, so we could spend more time together. What is more important; happiness now with o

Resolved Question: What should I do about underwater home - mortgages?
(Sun, 22 Aug 2010 18:01:15 GMT)
I live in SW Florida where I owe $335,000 for a house surrounded by homes forecloure specialists are enjoying profits from selling at $125,000 (in much better condition than mine), and at least another thousand brand new unoccupied homes nearby. Flood insurance just became mandatory and rates went up.
I bought in '06, it was the best I could get then, but in very poor shape compared to the quality of currently available homes. It would take another $20,000 just to make it marketable to sell f

i have been at my current job for 10 years. its for a state highway department as an assistant engineer. good job, good benefits, lots of time off, holidays, vacation time, work load is easy but the pay sucks.... im debating on taking a job for a railroad being a conductor/engineer. it would be an immediate increase in salary of $20,000 a year but i would be on call 24/7 365 days a year. so at my current job i am pretty much the highest i can get without 3 more years of schooling. so m

Resolved Question: Should villages/communities be allowed to have a 'housing for locals only' policy?
(Mon, 26 Jul 2010 18:09:18 GMT)
A Cotswolds village (Twyning in Gloucester ) wants to keep local housing for locals only as rich people buy homes for retirement or as holiday homes outbidding any local buyers. This changes the ethos of these villages and makes it difficult for locals to buy homes in their own community. Other areas like the lake District and Wales want to bring in a similar policy.... do you think this is a good idea?

Back in April 2009 my Dad (87 then) told me that when he met my Mum (dec'd 20 years) he had recently broken off another engagement. Apparently after the second world war he had been engaged to a local girl who had gone to work in London and managed to get herself pregnant, and married the other guy. It was an unhappy marriage and after a few months she wrote to ny Dad saying she would divorce her husband if he would marry her; he said he couldn't do that as his own father would put him out.

I am in love with this guy who happened to be my best friend. We are both 18, known each other since we were 13 and we are very shy so I haven't told him how I feel yet. Lots of people I know asked me if we are dating, I told them we are just best friends and feeling disappointed as I said it because I want us to be more than that. Resolved Question: What can I do about this?
(Sat, 06 Mar 2010 02:52:06 GMT)
I am in love with this guy who happened to be my best friend. We are both 18, known each other since we were 13 and we are very shy so I haven't told him how I feel yet. Lots of people I know asked me if we are dating, I told them we are just best friends and feeling disappointed as I said it because I want us to be more than that. My older brother thinks me and this guy are meant to be together.
My feelings for him are so strong, it is most strongest feeling I ever felt in my 18 years life.

The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.
With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.
All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical pl
