I work in a manufacturing company, a union job. As part of the insurance offered by the company I have opt-out due to having other insurance. They started taking money out of my check for Life Insurance , short term disability and accidental death and displacemant. If this is something I did not ask for and don't want, why should I have to pay for them. OK with this whole pre existing stipulation with these insurance companies i'm getting a little nervous. I will need to go on maternity leave in November. I started this job on January 11. Was not eligible to sign up for insurance until March 1. Which I did including short term disability. Meanwhile up until then I was on my husbands ins until 2/28/2010.
