Voting Question: can i take a life insurance policy out on my ex partner that i am 50% owner with in a rental proper?
(Sun, 29 Aug 2010 13:46:34 GMT)
I am 50% owner in a piece of property in NYS with someone who is extremely uncooperative and my ex business partner. I am on the deed as 50% owner and full owner when she passes, the problem is she has 2 mortgages on this property that i am not on the hook for until she dies.
The next is she's bi-polar and extremely uncooperative , I did not know this until recently, she resides in this house and allows her daughter to reside in 1 of the other apartments for free...we have had a NYS Judge rule

Resolved Question: Is it illegal to hold a Real Estate license and Life and Health or Property and Casualty licenses?
(Mon, 02 Aug 2010 05:01:40 GMT)
I am asking because I find myself in a position where I have enough clients in real estate that know me and trust me, therefore I could begin to offer those clients plus new ones home owners insurance, life insurance, disability, and mortgage protection plus lots of other investment opportunities such as annuities. Since things have slowed with the economy due to the lack of jobs I am looking for a way to make more money now since I still have 5 more years of school.

Voting Question: Is Life Insurance / Disability Insurance a growth industry for career planning?
(Sat, 08 May 2010 01:18:30 GMT)
I'm thinking of signing up with a company to sell life insurance and wonder whether this industry is growing or in decline. Also annuities... are there better products out there? I'm thinking of focussing on disability and term/mortgage insurance. How hard is this industry to get successful at?

Resolved Question: Should I ask him to sign an agreement?
(Wed, 24 Mar 2010 18:14:10 GMT)
My boyfriend & I have been together for 6 years. Lived together for 3 years. We lived in crappy apartments for 2 & a half years. We had been saving our money like crazy to be able to afford a house. We weren't 100% ready but the night our landlord or the police did nothing about the druggie losers upstairs bought a gun to our front door we knew it was time to get out & get out fast. We called a realtor the next day not expecting to find anything. But we found a 2004 house that was up for sale.

Voting Question: If you have lots of insurance, is an emergency fund really necessary?
(Fri, 04 Dec 2009 20:20:23 GMT)
We have employer-sponsored insurance, specifically: medical, dental, life, and AD&D. The medical and dental are COBRA-eligible. We also have auto, home and umbrella insurance, and will soon be purchasing individual life and disability policies. Additionally, if we lost our jobs, there would be some severance pay or unemployment. We also have a 3-mo. emergency fund. We pay our credit cards off every month. Our mortgage et al. loans account for 22% of our spending. Do we really need this

Resolved Question: Can I afford a new more expensive house?
(Tue, 08 Sep 2009 13:54:25 GMT)
We would like to buy a home for $230K. We currently have $43,000 to put down as a downpayment. With this new mortgage, taxes and insurance and all other monthly expenses we would be breaking even at the end of the month (technically $50 up each month but we'll call it even).
Just as another note my expenses include normal stuff like clothes, groceries, etc and:
$100 towards a college fund for each child/month
18% into 401K
allowance for surprise car maintenance

Hi. I am in a bind and seriously need to find someone who can help me. I am not looking for a handout. I am permanently disabled and last year I found out my husband of 12 years had fathered a child the year before. I was devastated. During the weeks the child was conceived I was in UVA with a major heart attack. I filed for divorce as soon as I could scrape together the money the lawyer asked for. She drew up an agreement that we both signed. In the agreement I relinquished ownership of all m

Resolved Question: Why does the British Government only support those who scrounge off of it?
(Wed, 26 Aug 2009 14:40:54 GMT)
I became unemployed in January through ill health. I currently receive £17.50 a week in Disability Living Allowance - and that's IT. I'm not eligible for any other benefits because either my husband works full time, or because I've not paid enough National Insurance this tax year. Despite the fact that I've worked for the last 10 years, and always paid taxes and insurance. If me and my husband were both unemployed and dropping out babies like our life depended on it, we'd be supported by the c

Resolved Question: What other types of insurance do you have besides homeowners, auto, health, and life?
(Thu, 28 May 2009 13:03:20 GMT)
I just bought a house and I'm about to get married. I'm thinking I should have some kind of insurance that could pay the mortgage should I ever become unable to work since I am the main breadwinner and there's no way my soon to be husband could pay all the bills himself. He could probably hack it without the mortgage payment, that would be the killer. Anyone in the same boat? What kind of insurance is the best for this, disability or mortgage insurance?
