Open Question: Would you respect a man that quit his job to keep from paying child support?
(Fri, 03 Sep 2010 18:15:01 GMT)
My boyfriend quit his job in order to not pay child support (in my opinion). He is a financial advisor, and he said that he was under so much stress going through the divorce that he wasn't able to function at work, so he went out on disability and then eventually quit. He said that because of his licenses, if he got fired it would follow him for 10 years because work history is public information for financial advisors. He also said that if he had kept his job and was working 12-15 hour da

Resolved Question: Can a deaf person still get into medical school?
(Sat, 21 Aug 2010 14:54:06 GMT)
I have good grades and I'm studying hard for my MCAT right now. I've always wanted to be a doctor, but I'm borderline deaf. I have been wearing hear aids for the last 5 years and can communicate and speak like a normal person. When I'm wearing my hearing aids there is absolutely nothing wrong with me, and not a single person would guess I'm deaf. My question is would having a physical disability like this prevent my chance of getting into medical school?
also I have long hair so no one can see

Resolved Question: Why does America always have to bail out countries like Pakistan & Haiti?
(Sun, 15 Aug 2010 02:02:40 GMT)
When we are bankrupt as a country, a nation and we have starving children. I mean 40 million people live on Food stamps here in the United States. Doesn't that mean anything? Look at how many people are on welfare, social security and or disability.
I don't think we should waste billions of aid money until our schools, hospitals, and government is in perfect or near perfect shape.

Agitation is loosely defined as an emotional state of excitement or restlessness. Though, that doesn’t quite say enough. I’ve never been officially diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome, but I’m pretty sure I got it right about now. Also, add: pasty skin, labored breathing, and a slight tingling feeling throughout the body.

Two unpleasant topics of conversation most of us avoid are the epidemic of HIV/AIDS among prison inmates and a variety of sometimes violent events resulting in transmission of the disease. Resolved Question: What do you think of The DREAM Act's astronomical costs?
(Thu, 05 Aug 2010 17:20:15 GMT)
The main reason more U.S. students do not complete their bachelor degree program is due to lack of funds. Therefore, while 43% of U.S. students are dropping out of college and the average college graduate owes $23,186 in student loans, instead of offering financial relief to U.S. students, Durbin and 38 other senators have co-sponsored the Act which would cost the U.S. taxpayer billions of dollars annually.

I decided to go back to school after being medically discharged from the navy. Not knowing about the post 9/11 g.i bill, I applied for financial aid which said it said I will have up to 5550 in a pell grant which is enough to cover my tuition. I found out about the post 9/11 and decided to fill out for that which it said if ur a disabled vet u will recieve 100% coverage. Can i still recieve the g.i bill even after applying for the pell grant. I will love to get the BAH benefits on a count of i

Resolved Question: What should I do about my life considering I have NO parents? FINANCIAL AID CRISIS!?
(Wed, 28 Jul 2010 02:39:04 GMT)
Not to play the violin..but my mom has been an alcoholic since i was 12 and kicked me out on an average of about 3 times a week since then (twice on 2 of my birthdays and once on my graduation day). I have slept on streets, lied to friends (to protect myself from embarrassment), and found any way around being a homeless teen. I was the kid on the block that was told 'NO you wont do this', and then i did, and 'NO you will never do that', and yet again i accomplished something. She has no friend

Resolved Question: no pet policy but they have cats?
(Tue, 27 Jul 2010 00:02:02 GMT)
The Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act protect the right of people with disabilities to keep emotional support animals, even when a landlord's policy explicitly prohibits pets. Because emotional support and service animals are not "pets," but rather are considered to be more like assistive aids such as wheelchairs, the law will generally require the landlord to make an exception to a "no pet" p

(Fri, 23 Jul 2010 08:28:49 GMT)
http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/news-extra/article/33196/britains-got-talent-contestant-sues-programme.html
She sounds like a strangled cat and she volunteered to go on the show... she's even playing the 'disability card' ( good job she's not black or Muslim too). I hope they haven't given her legal aid to pursue this stupid case, I don't want to pay for it.
Do you think she'll have any chance ( remember that women have received £100,000s compensation for seemingly ridiculous claims about workmen tell

Resolved Question: What would Jesus do about barriers in driving safety?
(Fri, 23 Jul 2010 00:47:29 GMT)
I shared a van without a safety belt for me. Some of the people in the van wore their safety belt and other's didn't. I told their children to wear their belts, but they didn't listen. I didn't have a belt, but I knew the driver knew that. I called the company and asked a supervisor that I wanted to report this. He seemed nervous and tried to convince me of something, so I thanked him and told him that I would make sure to comment on his reluctance to be curteous and to facilitate in helping f

Voting Question: Is this employment discrimination?
(Wed, 21 Jul 2010 21:30:46 GMT)
(I did my best to keep this a short as possible)
To start, I am a soon-to-be transitioning (read "getting out") enlisted military member.
Here's the hypothetical situation:
Whilst applying for a private-sector job, two candidates are completely equal in all respects (degree, experience, et al), save for one variance: both applicants are prior-military, but one was enlisted and the other was a commissioned officer.
As a listed position requirement, the employer chooses the formerly commission
