I have supported our boys 100% financially and my ex had never contributed or helped out. I, myself had been working for the last 9 years at the same employer. The company is no longer in

Resolved Question: Accept Settlement Offer for debt Is there another option?

I went to court over credit card debt. Because I was not served properly the case was delayed until I get served. I got a letter offering me a settlement from an attorney to say that the amount would be paid in full. The amount went from 4,000 which included late fees down to 1400, as a settlement offer. I asked to pay 1,000, because the rest I had to have to survived on considering I was only making about $8.00 an hour full time ( worked half that amount this year). The attorney on the lett

Voting Question: Refusing to pay life insurance claim, who should the family sue?
(Sun, 09 May 2010 05:42:51 GMT)
My employer has a third party administrator for our life insurance plan-basically they collect our premium and pay it to the carrier. In October, 2009 our life insurance changed to another carrier-not by our request. We had an employee on long-term disability before the change. We have a waiver of premium clause; however for reasons undetermined it was never applied for. My employer paid the premiums for this individual for the life of this employee-first to company #1 and then to company # 2

Ok, so in august of 2008 my fiance fell off a ladder that was connected to a building about 15ft high. This did happen while he was at work, and he fell straight on his right knee. He went straight to the emergency room when this happened. Instead of his employer calling a Ambulance he had his secretary pick him up and drop him off at the hospital. They are now telling me that they only had to pay 4 weeks because I was not with them a year. But they have waited 7 weeks to tell me that. Why did they pay 6 weeks if they only had to pay 4. The California Worker's Comp case I was involved in was actually both a Worker's Comp AND an Uninsured Employer's Fund case (boss didn't have insurance when I was injured). So, after just shy of three years of BS with the Worker's Comp and Uninsured Employer's Trust departments of the California government, I "capitulated," and signed a Compromise and Release to settle my case. Because it was an Uninsured Employer's Trust case, my case never became an "accepted case" until right before it wa
